Why this page exists

A model that grades itself in public has to be equally public when the grading, the inputs or the published claims were wrong. Corrections are logged here with a date, not quietly patched. If a correction changes a number that was previously published, the entry says so.

Corrections log

2026-08-15 — Prophet Locks could be built from league-average fallback inputs

What was wrong: When a probable starter could not be matched to a verified pitcher profile, the engine substituted league-average rates and still allowed that projection to be ranked on the Prophet Locks board. Locks published before this date may include starts whose inputs were not pitcher-specific.

What changed: Coverage is now derived from verified identity, real inputs and a known throwing hand. Unverified starters are labelled on the slate and in the console and are excluded from Locks, with the exclusion stated on the board.

What it affected: Prophet Locks boards published before 2026-08-15. Graded results were unaffected — grading always used the real box score.

2026-08-15 — The app showed 0 graded starts to first-time visitors

What was wrong: The app read the shared accuracy record through an authenticated write endpoint, so visitors without a sync key received a 401 and were shown an empty ledger and "baseline" model weights, while /results reported the real record from the same store.

What changed: A read-only aggregate endpoint now hydrates the public record before any trust metric renders.

What it affected: The in-app ledger and weights badge only. The published record at /results was always correct.

How to report a problem

Email hello@pitchprophet.net, or use the contact page. The most useful report names the pitcher, the date, and what you expected to see. Grading disputes are the highest-priority category — the graded record is the one number everything else on this site rests on.

  1. We reproduce the issue against the stored projection and the box score.
  2. If the record was wrong, it is corrected and an entry is added here the same day.
  3. If the record was right, we reply explaining the grading rule that applied. Those rules are documented at /accuracy.
